Economic Downturn Equals Opportunity

When small businesses start looking for ways to trim expenses, many times they choose to layoff employees because of the high cost of taxes, health coverage, etc.

The business owner will try to do the work that the former employee provided themselves in an economic downturn. They soon learn that they cannot keep up with their own responsibilities as well as the former employees' duties.

This is where opportunity exists for Virtual Assistants. This proved to be true during the economic downturn following the terriost attacks on Sept 11, 2001. Business owners need assistance, but cannot afford the overhead costs of employees. Virtual Assitants can provide a multitude of business support services, without the extra costs associated with hiring employees.

VA Tip: Be sure that your marketing materials and website will attract a small business owner that is struggling after having to cut back on employees. Use keywords associated with the current ecomomic situation. Clearly highlight the cost benefit of working with a VA. Offer a special trial discount to new
customers.

The new year will see many challenges for both consumers and business owners. Be prepared to take advantage of this opportunity as a Virtual Assistant.
